The Beginner’s Guide to American Bonsai
Stowell, Jerald P
The author, (who draws from more than twenty years of experience), begins with a concise explanation of basic Japanese principles of bonsai design and how they can be applied to American materials to create a distinctively American art form. He then goes on to discuss the many varieties of American trees and other plants that can be cultivated as Bonsai with gratifying results and , in more than 50 color and over 70 b/w illustrations, shows the pleasing effects that can be achieved with these materials. Though this book is intended for the neophyte, it will be welcomed by the more experienced bonsai cultivator as well.
